Received a GRA tax assessment or other tax decision you disagree with? The objection process is time-sensitive and requires more than a general complaint.
Current GRA guidance states that a dissatisfied taxpayer may lodge a written objection with the Commissioner-General within 30 days of being notified of a tax decision, and the objection must state the grounds precisely. The Revenue Administration Act also contains payment conditions and a discretionary mechanism for the Commissioner-General to waive, vary or suspend those conditions in appropriate cases.
NKR-GH-TAX-001 helps a taxpayer organise the objection properly before filing or before meeting a tax professional. It includes an editable objection letter, extension request, section 42(6) request, grounds-and-evidence worksheet, deadline checklist and an advanced 60-day no-decision notice, together with fictional examples and a detailed guide.
